Fred Stanton graduated from Wayne State University in 1977 with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice after completing an Associate Degree at Schoolcraft College. Fred went to work for the City of Dearborn as a Police Officer and, after 28 years of service, retired as a Sergeant.
While working for the Dearborn Police Department, Fred had various duties from field training officer, firearms instructor, emergency vehicle operations instructor, SWAT supervisor, narcotic supervisor, and his last assignment was Administrative Sergeant to the Chief of Police in charge of all special events and liquor control investigations.
Fred was also the primary instructor for emergency vehicle operations (precision driving) for both Wayne County Regional Police Academy and Oakland Police Academy. Fred has been instructing for Schoolcraft College / Wayne County Regional Police Training since 1989 in a part-time role.
After retiring, Fred worked for a sub-contractor to the National Football League working on logistics for four Super Bowls. Fred then went on to be the Security Manager for the Detroit Tigers. In 2008, Fred left the Detroit Tigers to return to Schoolcraft College-Wayne County Regional Police Training full time as their Public Safety Education Coordinator.
In the fall of 2013, Fred took a lateral transfer and became the Law Enforcement / Public Safety Education Coordinator. In this role, Fred was responsible for continuing education for Law Enforcement officers, and to provide public safety training for the public.
